Golden Award for iHub-Data Mobility team at Research Day 2023
Research Day 2023 was celebrated in SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chennai on Tuesday, 28 February 2023. It provides an excellent opportunity for all the faculty members, full-time research scholars, and students to exhibit their aptitude for research.
This year our team, represented i Hub-Data Mobility and participated in the event along with other UG, PG, and research scholars by presenting their work. Shristi Chakaravathy along with her team was awarded the Golden award certificate and a gold medal on the 28th of Feb' 2023.
Research Paper Title: An Enhanced Electric Vehicle with modified Predictive Direct Torque Control of Open Winding Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive
Research Paper Abstract :
Direct Torque Control (DTC) is a popular method for controlling the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) Drive. However, high torque and flux ripples are a disadvantage of DTC. It is observable that PMSM drive with Predictive Direct Torque Control (PDTC) function produces smaller torque and flux ripples, attaining better responsiveness under various steady-state and dynamic circumstances. This work proposes a low-complexity PDTC-based technique for direct regulation of flux and torque of an Open Winding (OW) PMSM drive. Two unique cost-functions for regulating flux and torque are employed in this suggested PDTC without involving a weighting component. For the OW-PMSM Drive, this simplified technique offers an enhanced steady-state response. To verify this, simulation model is created in the MATLAB-2020a Simulink platform. Comparative simulations of the suggested control with DTC are performed in terms of steady state and dynamic properties.
